Disney's Tarzan Action Game isn't billed as an educational program. And it's not. But based on our experience with similar, high visibility titles, we know many parents shopping for educational software will be encouraged by their children to purchase this program. How does it differ from Tarzan Activity Center? In almost every way imaginable. With the exception of the common underlying characters and sound track, and one arcade-style activity in the latter title, these programs are geared for entirely different audiences and purposes. Disney's Tarzan Action Game is a pure gamer program, aimed at kids who like goal-seeking programs where success is based on fast-twitch muscles and hand-eye coordination. Brain involvement is entirely optional. In Disney's Tarzan Action Game, after being treated to several excellently reproduced clips from the movie, the user begins a trek through 13 levels of jungle adventure as a young Tarzan. Along the path, Tarzan must collect valuable objects, eat bananas, and avoid wild animals.
