Treasure Cove set high goals for itself: to engage a child's imagination and motivate learning in thinking and problem-solving, language arts, scientific concepts, arithmetic, ocean life, and the environment. It attempts to accomplish these goals by using game-playing as a reward for correctly answering a wide range of questions. Unfortunately, our reviewers felt that the goals were too ambitious. While Treasure Cove does indeed engage the child's imagination, the linkage between game playing and question answering is a bit too tenous here to proclaim that much learning has taken place.
